What is Java Web Start?
You can use Java Web Start to run Java Web Start applications you download from the Internet. After a Java Web Start application is downloaded, it is stored on your hard disk, and you don't need your web browser to use it.
When you open the Java Web Start application, you see the "Welcome to Web Start!" application listed in the Application Manager window. This application provides information about using Java Web Start, and shows you some examples.
To run the "Welcome to Web Start!" application, select it in the Application Manager window and click the Start button.
If you don't see the "Welcome to Web Start!" application in the window, choose View > Remote Applications.
